SITUATED ABOVE THE SANTA CRUZ BLUFFS is the only coast-side property along Santa Cruz's West Cliff Drive. A longstanding client purchased the home as a weekend retreat to host family and friends. Inherited in the midst of extensive coastal permitting to remodel the property from the former owner and architect, the project presented a chance to breathe new life into the uninspired home. The design quickly became entrenched in the sensibility and principles of French mid-century craftsmanship. In turn, it is a celebration of fine millwork, both functional and simple in nature, exemplifying casual living at its most refined state.
